High Flying Hangars has secured a 40-year lease from the city of Denton to construct a 44-hangar development at Denton Enterprise Airport (KDTO) in North Texas. The $21 million project is slated to begin construction by year-end, with hangars expected to become available in 2026.

The development will introduce privately owned hangars designed for general and business aviation aircraft up to the size of turboprop singles and light jets. City utility connections will be included in the units, with additional amenities available based on size and owner specifications.

“With over 110,000 square feet of hangar space, the High Flying Hangars development will bring a much-needed resource to our aviation community,” said Denton mayor Gerard Hudspeth.

The planned facility represents High Flying Hangars’ first project in the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. “We’re committed to serving the rapidly growing needs of aircraft owners,” said company CEO Kenny Hinkes. “As long-time aviators and developers, we understand what they desire most in a private hangar.”

Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, High Flying Hangars was established in 2020 and focuses on developing aviation infrastructure at municipal airports across the U.S. It draws on more than 35 years of experience in commercial and residential development. Located approximately 25 miles north of Dallas–Fort Worth International (KDFW), KDTO serves as a general aviation reliever airport in the metropolitan area.
