Content Body

The Business Aviation Sustainability Summit will be a key feature of the 2025 NBAA-BACE show in Las Vegas. Last week, NBAA announced that the summit will be staged over the convention’s first two days on October 14 and 15, with a focus on how the industry can achieve net-zero carbon emissions.

Topics to be included in the summit’s agenda are market trends for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and how artificial intelligence could help to lower the carbon footprint of business aviation operations. Senior leaders at the event will also address challenges such as how sustainability regulations and fees are impacting the cost of flying, and how FBOs are developing infrastructure to support SAF supplies and electric aircraft.

Despite some moves by the Trump Administration to deprioritize efforts to achieve net-zero carbon, NBAA has maintained its commitment to advancing sustainability. “As the industry continues innovating toward its sustainability aims, NBAA-BACE offers a vital opportunity for the business aviation community to come together, highlight recent breakthroughs, and chart the path forward for an even more sustainable future,” said the organization’s senior director for environmental and technical operations, Stewart D’Leon.

NBAA pointed to initiatives such as recent proposals in the U.S. Congress to incentivize the availability and use of SAF. The recently passed budget bill continued SAF production credits through 2031.
