Content Body

AeroMech has received FAA supplemental type certificate (STC) approval for an aftermarket installation of SpaceX's Starlink satellite connectivity system aboard the Cessna Citation Longitude, providing another high-speed internet option for Textron Aviation’s super-midsize jet. The AeroMech STC enables use of the Starlink low-earth-orbit satellite network for worldwide connectivity, except over countries that prohibit its use.

AeroMech’s STC includes a Starlink aviation kit, consisting of an aero terminal (antenna), power supply, and a wireless access point, and only requires power input from the aircraft. Installation is available at Textron Aviation service centers in North America and certain international service centers.

Starlink published speeds range from 40 to 220 Mbps for downloading and 8 to 25 Mbps for uploading. Service prices range from $2,000 per month for 20 GB, plus $100 per additional gigabyte, to $10,000 per month for unlimited data.

“With Starlink now available as an aftermarket option for Longitude customers, they can enjoy high-speed, reliable connectivity that keeps them productive and connected throughout their flight,” said Brian Rohloff, senior v-p of customer support for Textron Aviation. “The Cessna Citation Longitude already delivers an exceptional experience with its quiet cabin, extended range and advanced avionics. Adding Starlink elevates that experience even further, helping customers stay focused on their mission without compromising on connectivity.”
