Content Body

Skytrac Systems has acquired the Sky Connect product line from Honeywell, and the two companies are helping smooth the transition for Sky Connect customers over the next several months, according to Skytrac.

Sky Connect’s products provide voice calling, flight tracking, and messaging via the Iridium low-earth-orbit satellite network, which are similar capabilities offered by some Skytrac products. The acquisition gives Skytrac a “perpetual license to manufacture, sell, and support the Honeywell Sky Connect product line,” Skytrac noted.

Commercial, business, and government aircraft operators make up Sky Connect’s customer base. Skytrac’s purchase of Sky Connect will help these customers “receive the same reliability and performance they have always depended on, now backed by Skytrac’s commitment to innovation and long-term customer support.”

“Sky Connect has a long history in aviation, and we’re proud to play a part in carrying that legacy forward,” said Shane Sullivan, v-p of operations at Skytrac. “Our focus right now is on keeping things steady for customers. Nothing about how you operate or how you’re supported will change overnight. Skytrac will provide clear, direct communication to each customer outlining transition timelines and points of contact, while both companies remain fully aligned in ensuring a seamless continuation of service. We’re excited about what this means for operators and the possibilities it opens for innovation down the line.”
