Content Body

Taking center stage at NBAA-BACE 2026, experts are gathering to discuss cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, transactions, and more. Expert discussions at the convention’s Flight Deck stage run throughout the event, alongside educational sessions, professional development seminars, and NBAA’s Military Connect program.

“The NBAA-BACE Flight Deck is where business aviation comes together to define the industry’s future,” said NBAA interim COO Dan Hubbard. “This year’s program reflects both the opportunities and challenges before our industry, while offering attendees practical guidance they can take back to their organizations.”

The first Flight Deck session on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. features speakers from Flight Pro International, Gogo, and Aviation Cyber and Vendor Risk Management (ACVRM), and tackles cyberthreats to business aviation, offering a nontechnical perspective on cybersecurity threats faced by Part 91 and Part 135 operators.

At noon, former NTSB member Michael Graham, CAE senior director Tim Schoenauer, and PepsiCo base chief pilot Matthew Simmonds will be discussing the industry’s shift to standard operating procedures (SOPs). NBAA, FlightSafety, and CAE are leading an industrywide initiative to address SOP deficiencies.

Beginning at 1:30 p.m., experts from West Star Aviation, The VIP Seat Podcast, and Jets MRO discuss the ongoing MRO capacity crisis as it relates to mergers, partnerships, and maintenance. The trio is delving into long-term outlooks of independent and large-brand MRO providers.

In light of the FCC’s plans to auction portions of the upper C-band spectrum next year, Jens Henning of GAMA and Eddie Straub of Garmin International discuss the radio altimeter mandate at 2:45 p.m. Because the upper C-band sits immediately adjacent to frequencies used by radio altimeters, operators may need to equip their aircraft against signal interference. The speakers outline installation timelines and funding through the FCC clearinghouse.

Rounding out Tuesday's sessions at 3:30 p.m., a live recording of “AviationStart,” a Flying video podcast hosted by Jamail Larkins, highlights careers across business aviation, such as maintenance, scheduling, dispatch, safety, and operations, according to NBAA.

Wednesday’s sessions cover topics such as advanced air mobility infrastructure and aviation careers. The full lineup is available on NBAA-BACE’s Flight Deck schedule.
