Cambridge Pixel is a relatively young British SME that has developed and exported radar display, tracking, and recording subsystems. Not long ago, it began supplying them to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for integration with airport surface movement systems.

“Our sophisticated radar tracker enhances target detection by processing the video data to identify genuine targets from clutter and thereby provide radar operators and air traffic controllers with confidence and improved situational awareness,” said David Johnson, CEO, Cambridge Pixel. The company says that its tracker is low-cost, open, and highly configurable to work with many different radars.

Cambridge Pixel claims “world-leading” status for its suite of software libraries and applications for radar scan conversion, visualization, radar video distribution, target tracking, sensor fusion, plot extraction, and clutter processing. It has just sold 40 video security displays that integrate multiple radar and camera sensors into a border and maritime security system for a country in the Middle East.
