Counter-drone systems are becoming ever-more important. Controp Precision Technologies (Booth Q58) is showing a variety of EO/IR sensors that identify and track small drone targets.
According to the Israeli company, once the drone has been detected, the challenge is to classify the threat with pinpoint accuracy, facilitating efficient activation of countermeasures, whether jamming, interception or neautralization. The company offers various solutions, including the SPEED-ER system which has extremely long range, and the SIGHT system for use on mobile vehicles.
Controp says that the systems are ideal for use in urban environments as well as airports and other strategic facilities. They offer automatic drone classification software in the video image, which is generated by multispectral sensors including short-wave infrared (SWIR). They “can even classify a single drone flying in a flock of birds,” the company says. – C.P.
