Hungary’s air force has contracted Embraer to provide maintenance, logistical, and technical support for its pair of C-390 Millennium multirole aircraft. The agreement was announced on Wednesday during the Singapore Airshow, nearly three months after the second of the twinjets was delivered in November.
The support will be provided by the Brazilian airframer’s resources in Europe. Hungary is now the first NATO military to have received its full order of C-390s, and the second NATO operator, along with Portugal, which has received four of its six aircraft. The first aircraft was delivered in late 2024.
The Hungarian C-390s are the first Embraer aircraft to feature the modular roll-on/roll-off medical intensive care unit. The aircraft have been designed for missions that could include medical evacuation, humanitarian support, search and rescue, cargo drops, troop movements, and paratrooper deployment.
“We are committed to building a long-term relationship that ensures sustained operational excellence through comprehensive support services,” said Douglas Lobo, vice president of customer support and aftermarket sales with Embraer Services & Support. “Hungary has demonstrated the aircraft’s outstanding reliability and versatility, and we look forward to continuing this collaboration to meet all current and future mission requirements.”
