AOPA raised $1,380 for the Veteran’s Airlift Command (VAC) through a new membership drive in November. In honor of Veteran’s Day, the association pledged to contribute 10 percent of new memberships and renewals between November 11 and 22. The association told AIN that it recently sent the funds raised to the organization, which provides free air transportation to post-9/11 wounded soldiers and their families through a network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots.

“The Veterans Airlift Command is a great organization that connects America’s community of pilots with those who have given so much,” said Mark Baker. “We are honored to help them in their effort to serve all those who have served and are in need.”
