Textron Announces Online Build-your-own TTx Feature

Taking a page from the websites of luxury automakers, Textron Aviation has launched a “build your own” Cessna TTx platform. The “TTx online configurator” allows prospective buyers to customize their paint, interior and avionics with options, such as air conditioning ($30,765), icing protection ($55,180) and even training ($4,135)added to the $715,000 base price. The TTx is Cessna’s four-seat, all-composite, 235-knot piston single.

The website feature also calculates the additional weight of each option, displaying the final empty weight with all added equipment included. Filling out the online form starts the four-step purchase process, beginning with Textron sending the buyer a purchase agreement. The signed document is then returned to Textron with a $90,000 deposit.

According to Textron, “The TTx configurator is a first-of-its-kind online virtual aircraft generator that gives prospective aircraft owners a snapshot of their custom TTx aircraft.”
