Eighteen aviation professionals will receive a combined total of $75,000 in training scholarships from Women in Corporate Aviation (WCA) this week during the 2017 NBAA convention. According to WCA president Cinty Youngblood, more than $100,000 has been offered toward training opportunities this year. The organization will present the awards during its scholarship and networking luncheon on Wednesday in room N242/240.
The $75,000 will be divided between eighteen individuals, including Molly Van Schoy, who won a $22,000 CAE Citation 500 series aircraft type rating scholarship; Dana Cashman, who won a $3,000 WCA leadership scholarship; Anusha Gregory, who won a a $22,100 FlightSafety International type rating scholarship; and Diar Aranki, who won a $3,000 AirFlite maintenance technician training scholarship.
At this year’s lunch ceremony, keynote speaker Scott Moore from CAM, ACC and Moore Life Leadership will give a presentation about a type of leadership based on aligning work with personal core values. After NBAA 2017, WCA will open its spring scholarship application process in November. Spring scholarships will be presented March 2018 at WCA’s annual membership meeting during the Women in Aviation conference.
