Boston MedFlight has ordered three H145s from Airbus Helicopters (Booth N1915) to continue its air medical transport for hospitals in the Boston and eastern Massachusetts areas. The first two aircraft will enter service this spring, while the third will arrive in the fall. Boston MedFlight’s three new H145s will replace two of its EC145s and one BK117. The company transports approximately 4,000 critically ill and injured patients to seven hospitals in the Boston area each year. These patients, who range from pediatric to adult, can have diagnoses including neurological, respiratory, cardiac, and obstetrical concerns. “The H145 platform suits our needs because of its versatility, safety, durability, and reliability,” said Boston MedFlight CEO Charlie Blathras. “It is the best all-around vehicle for our mission profile.”
