Content Body

Airbus Helicopters is increasing the alternate gross weight (AGW) available on new H135 light twins by 265 pounds of useful load. The increased AGW requires a temporary restriction on the flight envelope for approximately 20 minutes after takeoff, until 220 pounds of fuel is consumed. The increase can translate into 75 nm additional range or 40 minutes more endurance under standard conditions. The new AGW will be certified by EASA and FAA this year and can be retrofitted on all H135s with Helionix. The AGW does not trigger any reduction in part life or additional inspections and applies for VFR and IFR operations.

More than 1,300 helicopters in the H135 family are in operation worldwide and have amassed more than five million flight hours with 300 customers in 60 countries flying diverse missions including air ambulance, law enforcement, corporate transport, offshore wind, and military training.
