Content Body

Safran Helicopter Engines has signed a new Support-By-Hour (SBH) contract with the German federal police (Bundespolizei), covering its fleet of 10 Airbus H120 training helicopters. The contract formalizes a long-term MRO and service agreement supporting 11 Safran Arrius 2F engines and will be managed by Safran Helicopter Engines Germany, which supports almost 2,000 engines for more than 300 operators in Germany, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia.

This is the second SBH contract signed with Bundespolizei. The first was signed in July 2012, covering 36 Arrius 2B2 engines powering Airbus H135s operated by German police for emergency medical services and owned by the federal office of civil protection and disaster assistance. Bundespolizei operates from 12 bases around Germany.

SBH is Safran’s support-by-the-hour program, which now covers 50 percent of its customer engines’ flying hours. SBH and Health Monitoring are part of EngineLife Services, Safran’s range of maintenance solutions for helicopter engines.
