Konner Helicopters has appointed Savback as the distributor for its K1-S19 and K2 turbine single rotorcraft in the Nordic region, as well as in the UK and Ireland. The new helicopters, which are on display at this week’s European Rotors event in Madrid, are produced under ultralight regulations and are intended for private pilot owners.
Savback will handle sales across the territories from its headquarters in Sweden and also from its UK office at Nottingham heliport. The Nordic region also covers Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland.
Konner, which is based at Amaro in northeastern Italy, is seeking approval for both helicopters in multiple countries, and it already has clearance from Germany, Sweden, and Finland. Savback has purchased a K1-S19 demonstrator aircraft and is due to take delivery of this in March 2024.
Both the new light helicopters are powered by Konner’s proprietary TK-250 and TK-270 turboshaft engines, which feature a FADEC system. The 250-shp engines can run on diesel, biodiesel, JP-1, or JP-4 fuel.
The two-seat K1 and four-seat K2 models also feature Konner’s Hybrid Flight Assistance system, which is a supplementary electric motor that gets engaged in the event of an engine failure. The K1 has a maximum range of up to 200 nm, rising to 325 nm for the K2 model, and with respective cruise speeds of 115 kts and 130 kts.
