AAR Sponsors AIM Classroom, Maintenance Scholarship

Commercial and government aviation maintenance service provider AAR Corp. bolstered a partnership with the Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 5 at the AIM campus in Indianapolis. This event celebrated the opening of a new AAR-branded classroom.

The new classroom is part of AAR’s ongoing collaboration with AIM across the U.S., working to create educational pathways for students interested in pursuing careers in aviation maintenance. Indianapolis also hosts one of AAR’s fellowship programs that offer students hands-on experience working part-time at AAR’s maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility while completing coursework for their airframe and powerplant (A&P) certificates.

AAR has identified the industry’s shortage of a skilled aviation maintenance workforce and has actively advocated talent development. Recently, the company made a $25,000 donation to AIM’s scholarship fund in Indianapolis. In recognition of this generosity, the new classroom features AAR logos, images, and a QR code that provides information about career opportunities with the company.

“The opening of this classroom…symbolizes our shared passion for unlocking learning opportunities and speaks to the broader AAR/AIM partnership,” said AAR senior v-p of repair and engineering Tom Hoferer.

“This partnership enriches our educational environment and provides our students with invaluable resources and opportunities, empowering them to excel in their aviation careers,” said AIM campus executive director Andy Duncan.
