China’s August 1st Ba Yi Aerobatics Team Performs Flying Display at Dubai Airshow

China’s August 1st flight demonstration team brought six Chengdu J-10 multi-role fighters to the Dubai Airshow 2017. The aerobatics demo team, part of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force, is named after the date of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army on August 1st, 1927.

Powered by a 12,500-pound thrust Russian Saturn AL-31FN turbofan, the fly-by-wire J-10 first flew in March 1998. The graceful and tightly choreographed group’s flying display highlights the J-10’s nimbleness and the Chinese pilots’ formation flying skills.
