In one of the stiffest tests yet for hybrid-electric aircraft propulsion technology, GE Aerospace and its partner Beta Technologies flew a converted Saab 340B twin turboprop aircraft at 30,000 feet between the U.S. and the UK. The companies have joined forces to prove the technology for multiple uses on both new and existing commercial and military aircraft.
