Lufthansa Technik Unveils ‘Smart’ Aircraft Tray Table with Touchscreen Tech

Lufthansa Technik has been rethinking how passengers interact with the aircraft cabin environment. At the recent 2025 Dubai Airshow, the company showed a new way to display information and user interfaces without using conventional screens, called the Hidden Touch Display. The displays can be integrated into surface materials that appear at first glance as wood, carbon fiber, or metal, and disappear when not in use. Lufthansa Technik envisions applications for this product in airliners and business jets, and the technology can be used in other ways, such as on a bulkhead for a cabin management system.
