The UAE Mirage 2000 fleet primarily consists of the Dassault Mirage 2000-9 variant, which is the most advanced evolution of the French multirole fighter, developed specifically for the United Arab Emirates Air Force. This aircraft is a single-engine, delta-wing fighter that has been extensively modernized from the standard Mirage 2000 platform. It is powered by a SNECMA M53-P2 turbofan engine, allowing the aircraft to achieve a maximum speed of approximately Mach 2.2 at high altitude.

The Mirage 2000-9 variant is distinguished by its fully multirole capability, supported by the Thales RDY-2 multi-mode radar, which offers simultaneous detection and tracking of multiple air-to-air targets. The cockpit features a modern 'glass cockpit' configuration with multi-function displays and is night vision goggle (NVG) compatible. The aircraft is equipped with an integrated electronic warfare suite, designated IMEWS. Its primary armament includes two internally mounted 30mm DEFA cannons, and external weapons such as MBDA MICA air-to-air missiles, Black Shaheen cruise missiles, and laser-guided bombs designated using the Damocles targeting pod.
