AIN is pleased to announce the winner of the 2021 Top Flight Awards Excellence in Innovation or Design category: Kenny Dichter

Kenny Dichter first came to aviation prominence as the founder of jet card provider Marquis Jet in 2001, a company he sold to Berkshire Hathaway in 2010. In 2013 he launched Wheels Up, and less than a decade later, it has become the largest Part 135 operator in the U.S thanks to a series of recent and rapid acquisitions.

Wheels Up became a publicly-traded company earlier this year, and projects an annual run rate of close to $1 billion dollars in 2021. Dichter’s ambitions are much bigger, and he evisions Wheels Up as the Amazon of aviation, democratizing the business aviation space even further, looking to the models set by consumer apps such as Uber and Open Table.
