Zeiss Microoptics Brings New Display Tech to Aircraft Cabin, Cockpit

Optical technology specialist Zeiss is entering the aviation market with technology it says is better suited to the complex data needs of today’s highly connected aircraft. At the Farnborough International Airshow, the company demonstrated transparent displays for passengers and a new approach to head-up displays for pilots, applicable to multiple aircraft types. The Zeiss HUD's compact architecture reduces packaging volume by 80% compared with current systems, so it can fit into smaller cockpit spaces.
