Description

The FAA extended the comment period by one month to May 1, 2024, because of corrections made on its proposed amendments to maintenance inspection rules for single-engine turbine-powered and unmanned aircraft. The proposed changes include additional inspection program options for owners of these aircraft, relax mechanical reliability reporting requirements for Part 91K (fractional) aircraft, and make several changes to clarify and simplify various maintenance-related regulations. The agency said these proposed amendments “would relieve aircraft owners, operators, maintenance providers, and the FAA” of certain regulatory burdens, and provide “greater flexibility for aircraft maintenance, standardized reporting requirements, as well as clarify several maintenance-related regulations." Comments are due by May 1, 2024.
