Skyports has added another partnership for the development of advanced air mobility (AAM) infrastructure, this one a memorandum of understanding with South Korea’s Hanwha Systems. Under an agreement announced on June 3, the two companies will collaborate on developing infrastructure, flight services, and a mobility platform, according to Skyports.

The first Skyports air taxi vertiport was a temporary structure put up in Singapore's Marina Bay area for trials with Volocopter eVTOL aircraft in 2019. Skyports is also working on AAM infrastructure projects in Paris and London, North America, and elsewhere in Asia.

Hanwha aims to leverage the relationship with Skyports to provide AAM services globally and in South Korea. The AAM infrastructure technology will be designed to meet “VTOL aircraft operator demands whilst supporting environmental goals,” according to Skyports.

“Hanwha Systems’ wealth of experience providing smart technology solutions across the aerospace industry make them an important partner for us to advance our vertiport capabilities,” said Skyports CEO Duncan Walker.Their solutions-focused, customer-first approach is highly aligned with Skyports’ own values. We look forward to developing this partnership, which will shape our own vertiport offering and enable the wider industry.”

Skyports also provides drone delivery services, and this is also part of what the company brings to the partnership with Hanwha.
