Pressure increases on the FAA to take action
Content Body

Members of the U.S. Congress from both sides of the aisle are pressuring the FAA to develop the necessary rule structure to allow the operators of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to operate in the U.S. The stepped up pressure comes as recent reports also show a significant rise in the number of incidents of unauthorized UAS operations near airports. While new FAA rules are expected to allow some limited flights, it is unclear if those rules will also speak to the sense-and-avoid technology necessary to prevent drones from colliding with manned aircraft.
