Content Body

Eurocontrol, working together with the Flight Safety Foundation and the European Regional Airline Association, will host an operational safety forum, Safety and Automation in Aviation, on June 2 and 3 at Eurocontrol headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. Forum organizers are seeking to attract global participation from all aviation sectors, especially from front-line personnel often unable to attend traditionally longer safety conferences, and expects to create a consensus and proposed recommendation report focused around automation issues.

Specifically, the conference will review the current state of aircraft automation, as well as the technology’s safety benefits and challenges. The event will also share best practices from aircraft operators and air-navigation service providers and explore new and potential developments in automation. Conference organizers are also seeking papers related to these topics, along with a 500-word topic abstract and the author’s credentials, by February 19. Papers selected will be delivered in short 20-minute sessions.
