Curtiss-Wright unveils multiple new products improving helicopter safety.
Content Body

Curtiss-Wright is introducing several new products developed by its Defense Solutions division. On display at the Heli-Expo show are the AVDU2600, a next-generation 10.4-inch LCD mission display; Fortress, a new family of ultra-lightweight “crash” recorders; and the MPMC-9355-0002, a fully integrated five-slot 3U OpenVPX mission computer for defense and aerospace platforms.

The AVDU2600 mission display supports multiple video inputs, windowing and sunlit and NVIS operation by default, and joins the company’s line of mission displays ranging from 12.1 to 21.5 inches.

The Fortress line of crash recorders feature a dual-redundant CVR/FDR to mitigate the risk of mandatory grounding in case of recorder failure. Weighing about 5.7 pounds, the recorders are about half the weight of solid-state alternatives.

The new MPMC-9355-0002 Multi-Platform Mission Computer is designed for compute-intensive applications, and it can be “personalized” with a wide array of module options and configured to support high-performance graphics displays.

The company also announced that its Defense Solutions division has begun shipping its new KAD/MAT/101, the first microprocessor module designed for use with its Aca KAM-500 digital data acquisition unit for flight test instrument applications. Additionally, the company announced the enhancement of its Parvus DuraCOR 80-41 mission computer. Curtiss-Wright is also displaying a wide range of its COTS-based solutions designed for use on helicopters.
