Airbus Helicopters, Vector Aerospace (Airbus Helicopters’ maintenance arm) and Rockwell Collins signed an agreement here in Paris on Tuesday to jointly develop and market the Pro Line Fusion avionics suite as an upgrade for in-service Airbus helicopters. The first implementation, to start in the summer of next year, will be on AS332/532 Mk1 Super Pumas.
The mission-specific operational profiles in Pro Line Fusion for helicopters include offshore platform approaches, hover in place and extended search-and-rescue patterns. The suite combines large, high-resolution displays with touchscreens and keypad and cursor controls.
“The enhanced situational awareness features provided by Pro Line Fusion will result in reduced pilot workload and greatly increase flight safety,” Troy Brunk, vice president and general manager of airborne solutions for Rockwell Collins, said.
