The Transportation Research Board’s Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) is offering a webinar on September 9 that is focused on reducing the risk of encounters between aircraft and wildlife at airports. The ACRP research on which the webinar is built is aimed at airport managers, operators, planners and maintenance personnel.
It will include innovative airport responses to help manage threatened and/or endangered species, as well as methods to balance an airport’s storm water and bird hazard management. The webinar will also introduce listeners to a spreadsheet tool that evaluates bird-strike risks in the presence of varying amounts of airport storm water.
The webinar is offered free of charge but requires advanced registration. The session will also provide two continuing education units for accredited airport executives.
