Content Body

Global aerospace supply chain provider Pattonair is among the first group of UK companies selected to participate in the Access India program. Sponsored by the Indian government, the program is meant to promote investment and participation from small- to medium-sized UK companies in India.

Headquartered in Derby, UK, Pattonair (Hall 1, Stand 1140) is establishing a wholly owned subsidiary and support facility in Bangalore. Scheduled to begin operations in January, the facility will support customers close to where they operate, speeding up supply, and allowing Pattonair to customize services to each client’s specific needs and business goals.

Pattonair has already established a presence in India, supplying UTC with C-class parts for actuation systems and its Sensors & Integrated Systems sites in Bangalore supporting the Boeing 787, and Airbus A350 and A320neo. With more than 1,000 on order, India lays claim to the world’s third-largest airliner order book behind the U.S. and China.

The Access India program is part of the “Make it in India” initiative, promoted by prime minister Shri Narenda Modi, to encourage international companies to base operations in the country. Mark Ness, Pattonair commercial director for India, said, “Pattonair’s strategic procurement team is currently meeting with India-based suppliers to provide parts to customers in India and to the rest of the world.”
