UK-based SteelRock Technologies is launching the Odin counter-UAV system this week at the Farnborough Air Show. SteelRock (Hall 1, Stand 1195) has developed the system in cooperation with technology partner Silent Sentinel. Odin is meant for civil, public protection, and military applications and is available to buyers formally approved by the British government.
Odin has a modular architecture that enables integration with existing detection and tracking systems. It can detect, track and control threat UAVs at a range of up to three kilometers (1.9 miles). Combined with partner Silent Sentinel’s advanced pan-and-tilt system and electro-optical array, Odin can also control the hostile UAV with SteelRock’s existing Night Fighter options—hover, land, and return home.
Safety features enable Odin to be used in complex RF environments with minimal risk of collateral effect. It was designed by SteelRock’s in-house research and development team with its extensive military experience. SteelRock also assures customers they will be supported through “constantly evolving challenges posed by drones.”
