Raytheon Technologies divisions Pratt & Whitney and Collins Aerospace said on Monday that they’ve signed a full-flight data delivery agreement. The partnership will make use of Collins’s GlobalConnect solution to enhance engine health management services offered to Pratt & Whitney-powered aircraft as part of its EngineWise Insights+.
Based on full-flight data captured from takeoff to landing, EngineWise provides preventative maintenance recommendations to optimize performance, mitigate fleet disruptions, reduce customer operating costs, and maximize time in the air. With that technology and its global support network, Pratt & Whitney aims to ensure maximum engine reliability.
GlobalConnect aids in the work by collecting thousands of parameters from sensors and systems throughout a flight; the partnership allows Pratt & Whitney to draw insights and track trends using an even larger pool of data.
“By collaborating with a company that has longstanding relationships with many shared airline partners and industry-leading connectivity solutions, we are able to streamline data management and more immediately offer out predictive maintenance support,” explained Kevin Kirkpatrick, v-p of aftermarket global operations at Pratt & Whitney.
“We continue to see a strong increase in the demand for analytics, predictive maintenance, and data management,” said Jen Schopfer, president of Connected Aviation Solutions for Collins. “We are on the leading edge as we collaborate to bring best-in-class solutions to our global stakeholders in the technical operations space.”
