Content Body

Aircraft Propeller Service (APS) has opened its first maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Asia with the launch of a propeller center in Selangor, Malaysia. The 30,096-sq-ft site will serve operators across the Asia-Pacific region, offering in-house MRO capability for ATR 42/72 and Airbus C295 propellers.

The Malaysian site is currently the only MRO center in Asia or the Americas licensed to perform OEM-proprietary 568F propeller repairs under Collins Aerospace authorization. The facility is certified by both the FAA and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, with EASA and other approvals expected soon.

Twenty of the site’s 30 employees have completed APS’ OEM-authorized training programs in the U.S. and Brazil, including 31 technical courses. The facility includes a climate-controlled shop floor and a three-story office block, and will expand capabilities over time.

With Asia-Pacific accounting for 37% of the global ATR fleet—and nearly 1,000 more 50- to 70-seat turboprops projected over the next two decades—APS said the Malaysia center will reduce turnaround times and support regional fleet growth.

“This MRO center represents more than a geographic expansion,” said APS CEO Daniel Colbert. “It is a strategic investment in workforce development and technical excellence, and a commitment to be close to our customers.”
