Bell has certified Semper Fly Helicopters in Norman, Oklahoma, as a Bell Certified Training Facility, expanding training options for the Bell 206B. The certification provides operators of the single-turbine-engined helicopter with additional regional training locations while maintaining the OEM's training academy standards and curriculum. The training includes autorotations and other critical skills.
“By combining Bell’s innovative technology and training expertise with Semper Fly’s veteran-led approach, we are creating a regional solution that meets the highest standards of safety and quality,” said Chad Sparks, general manager of Bell Training Academy.
The collaboration is intended to support the pursuit of advanced defense aviation training programs, including the Army Flight School Next Program. Bell is investing in Oklahoma’s aviation and defense community through the partnership while supporting Semper Fly’s growth by using Bell’s standardization processes and training technology.
“Our work together reflects a shared commitment to safety, quality, and the continuous advancement of helicopter training,” said Semper Fly CEO Brandi Rector.
Pilots at certified facilities receive instruction adhering to Bell’s curriculum and safety protocols. The certification aims to deliver training closer to customers’ operational bases.
As an FAA Part 141 helicopter flight training program, the facility provides helicopter flight training for the University of Oklahoma’s aviation program. Semper Fly is a veteran-owned, woman-owned small business.
