Former ExecuJet CEO Niall Olver launched AX Aero Group, a Zurich-based company combining six aviation businesses, at Aero Friedrichshafen on April 21. The group includes Axis Aviation, which provides aircraft management and operations; Axis Flight Simulation, a simulator manufacturer; Aeroset Flight Test, a flight test services provider; Propair Flight, a simulator software developer; AeronautX, a pilot training provider; and Axis Technologies, a digital aircraft ownership platform.
The companies will continue operating independently while offering coordinated services in pilot training, flight testing, aircraft certification support, and operations assistance.
“AX Aero Group has been created to make aviation services simpler, transparent, and more effective,” said Olver, who serves as chairman. “Too often, our customers are required to work with multiple providers across training, operations, and technology, adding unnecessary complexity, cost, and time.”
Christian Theuermann, an Axis Flight Simulation executive board member, joined as director to oversee operations and finance. Brad Nolan was appointed v-p for North America.
Olver said pilots can train on simulators built using flight test data generated within the group. Theuermann said AX Aero Group is the first European business of its kind to unite these services “across the aviation value chain.” The group serves clients globally.
