Q400 Propeller Blade Punctures Cabin

An Air Canada Express passenger aboard a Bombardier Q400 twin turboprop narrowly escaped serious injury November 6 after a blade from the right engine separated from the propeller shaft and punctured the cabin in front of her seat. The incident occurred during an emergency landing at Edmonton airport after tires on the right main gear blew out followed by the collapse of the right main gear itself. The blades separated as the still spinning propeller struck the ground.
