The FAA announced last week that it has proposed a $55,000 civil penalty against MayaAir of Telluride, Colo., for conducting commercial passenger operations using an unauthorized aircraft. The agency believes that between July 28, 2014, and Aug. 3, 2014, MayaAir flew a Beechjet 400A on five flights when its operating specifications did not authorize the use of the Beechjet for commercial operations.
