GE Aerospace and the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) inked an agreement this week at the Paris Airshow to explore collaborating on research and development for next-generation aerospace technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes. This move will help GE advance on programs for open-fan engine architecture, hybrid-electric propulsion systems, compact core, and thermal management, among others.
“Collaborations and public-private partnerships are critical to helping the aviation industry achieve its net-zero ambition," said GE Aerospace v-p of engineering Mohamed Ali. "That’s why GE Aerospace is working across the aviation industry to advance technologies to reduce aviation emissions, and we look forward to continued discussion with the National Research Council of Canada on collaboration opportunities,”
The NRC’s Aerospace Research Centre helps the aerospace industry advance technologies through innovation, including support for the transition to low-carbon aviation.
