Content Body

Saudi start-up airline Riyadh Air has signed a collaboration agreement with IBM Consulting under which the two will develop a technology foundation for the airline. The new carrier launched in March and plans to serve 100 global destinations by 2030. It expects to begin revenue flights in 2025.

Riyadh Air and IBM Consulting have already created a digital technology strategy for the airline. Through the new agreement, IBM Consulting will serve as the lead systems integrator. The strategy calls for a hybrid cloud approach that integrates technology capabilities in fields such as security, infrastructure, and data platforms. The partners also plan to employ artificial intelligence as part of the drive to offer digital innovations that benefit both passengers and airline employees.

IBM will work with 40 partners while introducing more than 50 airline industry solutions and core technology capabilities. The company’s roles include the provision of program and technical governance, project management, quality assurance, and training.
