South African airline Airlink has signed an agreement with Embraer for a component pool program to support its order for 10 new E195-E2 jets. Airlink is purchasing the jets through leases with Azorra.
The new pool program agreement expands Airlink’s coverage to 78 airplanes, which serve 47 destinations in 15 Southern and East African countries. These include Madagascar, St. Helena, and charters to Ascension Island. Airlink has been operating Embraer airliners since 2001.
“Expanding the Embraer component inventory agreement to cover our new Embraer E195-E2s will provide us with the security we need as we deploy the aircraft,” said Airlink CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht. “It will help us achieve the maximum operational, commercial, and economic benefits we expect to derive from the new additions to our fleet.”
“This pool program agreement reflects our commitment to operational excellence and reinforces Embraer’s role in supporting Airlink’s growth strategy in the region,” said Carlos Naufel, president and CEO, Embraer Services & Support.
