Brazilian business aviation services group Synerjet plans to buy 10 of Regent Craft’s Viceroy Seaglider electric-powered wing-in-ground-effect vessels. The companies announced the agreement on February 4, with Regent saying it aims to start deliveries in 2029.

Synerjet, which is a distributor for Pilatus fixed-wing aircraft and Leonardo helicopters, intends to work with Regent on initial markets for the 12-passenger Viceroy. It is expected to operate on coastal routes of up to almost 160 nm at speeds of up to 160 knots.

According to Regent, Latin America has strong potential as a market for the hydrofoiling vessel, which will be certified under maritime rules. It sees cities such as Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires as likely early hubs for commercial services.

From its base in Rhode Island, the manufacturer is preparing to make a first flight with a full-scale Viceroy prototype later this year. It has already conducted some sea trials and is also using its Squire Seaglider drone to validate some systems and controls. The company is addressing certification requirements with the U.S. Coast Guard and has a partnership with Lloyd’s Register for international validation.

“Regent’s Seaglider represents a compelling new category of mobility,” said Synerjet CEO Fabio Rebello. “By combining aircraft-like speed with dock-to-dock convenience and zero-emission operations, Seagliders allow us to expand our service offering and unlock new regional routes that were previously impractical or underserved.”
