Supply-chain specialist FDH Aero has opened its expanded facility at Singapore’s Seletar Aerospace Park. At an event on Tuesday ahead of the Singapore Airshow, the California-based group said its investment has upgraded a logistics hub into a distribution center for customers across East and South Asia.
The facility has doubled in size with the addition of a floor of offices and meeting rooms. The lower floor is now used as a warehouse and operations hub for distributing hardware, electronics, consumables, and expendable stock.
“The grand opening of our expanded Singapore facility represents a significant milestone in our continued investment in the Asia-Pacific region,” said FDH president of hardware Matthew Lacki. “By doubling our space, we are increasing the scale and service of our operations and empowering our local FDH Aero and PDQ Airspares teams with the environment they need to engage with customers and provide supply chain solutions locally.”
According to FDH Aero, its expanded footprint in Singapore will accelerate its local team’s ability to provide clients with comprehensive supply chain management, including engineering support, inventory control, and logistics planning. The investment was prompted by several contract wins, including a new long-term partnership with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China to support its C919 airliner. The company also has sub-tier manufacturing clients in South Korea and Japan.
“We are bringing strategic decision-making closer to our customers, so they can confidently act in real-time within one of the world’s fastest growing aviation markets,” said Cody Ho, managing director of FDH Aero APAC. “Our team is local and understands the unique cultural and technical needs of this market. With this upgraded space, we can host our partners and make supply chain decisions together right here in Singapore without waiting for approvals from different time zones.”
