Gulfstream IV-SP, Teterboro, N.J., May 19, 2006 and Dassault Falcon 20, Morristown, N.J., May 16, 2006–At neighboring Teterboro (TEB) and Morristown Municipal (MMU), two corporate jets encountered birds in flight in May. At TEB, Gulfstream IV-SP N844GF, registered to Ford Aviation of San Francisco, struck a bird on takeoff, causing damage to the number-two engine. The jet returned to the airport and landed without incident. No injuries were reported.
At nearby MMU, Falcon N18MV hit geese on takeoff, damaging the right engine, but the aircraft was able to return and land without a problem. Again, no injuries were reported. The Falcon is registered to Short Hills Aviators, of Short Hills, N.J.
