Gulfstream GV, Hillsboro, Ore., Nov. 21, 2005–The NTSB attributed the accident to the failure of the right main landing gear door uplock linkage actuator due to corrosion, which resulted in the jamming. After takeoff from Portland-Hillsboro Airport, the pilot of the Nike GV raised the landing gear but the right main landing gear door did not retract. He cycled the gear and the right gear jammed half down. He did a low pass and a maintenance crew photographed the bottom of the airplane. Gulfstream engineers examined the photos and told the pilot how to extend the gear, which he was able to do. The operation took six hours and 10 minutes, but the airplane landed safely.
