NBAA has received reports of changes to customs clearance procedures at some airports for international general aviation aircraft arrivals. In Los Angeles, for the time being, aircraft that have heretofore cleared U.S. Customs and Border Protection at Van Nuys Airport, Bob Hope Airport in Burbank and Long Beach Airport must now clear customs at Los Angeles International Airport, according to a customs official. Under similar requirements for the Dallas area, NBAA said general aviation aircraft now must clear customs at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. At Washington Dulles Airport, general aviation aircraft passengers are now bused from FBOs to the international arrivals building for processing. NBAA recommends that operators verify customs-clearing procedures at their intended airports before arrival to reduce the possibility of surprises.
