Bombardier Aerospace announced here that the Federal Aviation Administration has granted approval for Rockwell Collins’ Pro Line 21 avionics suite in the Canadian company’s Learjet 60XR. It received the supplemental type certificate on September 28, which paves the way for Bombardier to begin production. The first group of aircraft is on schedule to enter service in the first quarter of 2007. The Pro Line 21 avionics suite integrated package includes four 8- by 10-inch high-resolution LCD adaptive screens, boosting overall display area by 75 percent. The flight information includes access to electronic charts as standard equipment and allows pilots to view approach plates and airport diagrams.
