On Monday the NTSB posted its preliminary report on the June 3 accident involving Dornier 328JET N328PD. The aircraft, operated under Part 91 by East Coast Flight Services, was substantially damaged during a runway overrun, following an aborted takeoff from Runway 34R at Manassas Regional Airport, Va. According to the operator, the flight crew reported an “airspeed miscompare” and aborted the takeoff. The airplane hit a runway end identifier light, portions of the approach light system and the airport security fence before stopping on a road. Neither of the two pilots nor any of their six passengers were seriously injured. The airplane was equipped with a cockpit voice recorder and a flight data recorder. Visible skid marks were evident beginning 3,120 feet from the departure end of the 5,700-foot long runway. Reported weather was wind 290 degrees at 13 knots, visibility five miles and scattered clouds at 600 feet.
