Raytheon Closing Northeast Service Facility

Raytheon Aircraft Services (RAS) sent a letter dated May 31 alerting customers that it is selling its Atlantic City, N.J. facility to FBO Midlantic Jet Aviation. The sale will mark the end of Raytheon maintenance at Atlantic City because Midlantic won’t take over this work, and leaves RAS with eight factory-owned service maintenance facilities in the U.S., but none in the northeast. In the letter, RAS v-p Doug Brantner and Randy Groom, Raytheon Aircraft president of customer service and support, said, “We have tried over many years to make the Atlantic City business financially viable, but regrettably we have not been successful.” The sale should take place before the end of this month, according to a Raytheon spokesman. Separately, Raytheon Aircraft announced today that it appointed General Dynamics Aviation Services in Westfield, Mass., as an authorized Hawker 800 service center.
