No night fueling on Dublin ramp

ExxonMobil Aviation is no longer providing fuel services on the Bravo ramp at Ireland’s Dublin Airport. After performing a risk assessment of the ramp’s lighting conditions, ExxonMobil determined that it would be safer to fuel general aviation aircraft on the airport’s main commercial ramp at night. FBO Signature Flight Support does not operate the Bravo ramp, but a spokesman said, “We are working with the local airport authorities to facilitate appropriate corrective action.” The lighting on the Bravo ramp has been the same for many years, according to information provided to AIN. ExxonMobil did not say what prompted the lighting assessment, but it is working with airport operator Aer Rianta to upgrade the lighting. No timeline was available as to when the lighting situation would be improved. Currently, Dublin’s hours of darkness are from about 4 p.m. to 8 a.m.
