A number of changes to service charges proposed by Nav Canada will not go into effect as planned on March 1. Nav Canada, the private corporation that provides the country’s air navigation and ATC services said, “More time is needed to consider the comments and suggestions made in submissions received from stakeholders during the consultations period,” which ended on February 10. According to Nav Canada the new fees, in part, “aim to better balance the charges between large and small aircraft.” Nav Canada said the balance will be achieved through “positive variances in operating results rather than an increase in fees.” However, there are in fact proposed changes in the fees for some smaller aircraft and their operations. “A decision on the proposals, including implementation dates, is now anticipated in April.”
